Create You Own YouTube Message for McCainGina Patterson has come up with a great grassroots idea to counter McCain's negative ads against Obama. She suggests
we take our cell phones and make short video interviews of people posing a question to McCain such as "We know how you
feel about Obama, tell us Senator McCain what can you do???" Or "Sen. McCain what can you do about____________"
and put in an issue important to you. She has posted step-by-step instruction as to how to upload your video from your
phone onto the YouTube site. If we spread this far and wide. It can effectively put the focus back on the issues and
off the personal attacks Her website is http://threesyllablethought.blogspot.com

Hope, Sweat and Tears! If you live in southwest Oklahoma and you listen to country station KFXI, you might have heard me on Saturday! I
was at the Grady County Fair campaigning for Obama at a fabulous booth put together by the very well organized and enthusiastic
Grady County Democrats. They had a double booth that superbly promoted the Senator as well as local candidates
like Austin Green who is running for Sheriff and Blake Cummings who is running for Congress. Both men are likable,
intelligent and deserving of your consideration and your vote. I was lucky enough to speak to the listeners of KFXI on behalf
of the Obama Campaign in Oklahoma and invite everyone out to the fair. It was great fun, but I was so nervous! I have
posted a picture of me during the interview and other pictures from Saturday, on the photos page. After leaving
Chickasha, we went to the First Annual Okarchefest in Okarche, Oklahoma. It was a delightful,
small town, street fair of only 1/2 a block! In spite of that, we registered several new voters and passed out lots of stickers
and rally signs. But, the most meaningful experience of the day took place at the restaurant where we ate that night, tired
and sweaty from the long day. As we waited in line to get a table, a customer noticed our Obama shirts and brought us
a sack full of Obama pins to hand out!! Two of the wait staff came over and wanted more information about the Senator. One
guy was so excited to get involved, I took his name to pass it on to the volunteer coordinator in the area where he
goes to school. The heart of the Democratic party is and has always been its people. We are those people. We
who support Barack Obama are a new party comprised of Democrats, Republicans, Independents and people who have never been
affiliated with a political party. We are Democrats who remember. We have felt this hope before. We are students who feel
it for the first time and we are children who don't yet understand the importance. I watched the convention speeches
tonight with tears in my eyes and tissues in my hands. Yes, we have problems; yes we have opponents we passionately disagree with,
but we are a mighty force, a mighty voice for hope and change and I hope you saw as I did tonight that dreams are still possible. If
you have waited to get involved wait no more! Check www.mybarackobama.com (link is above) for events near you and join us.
Wear a pin, a t-shirt, get a bumper sticker! BE story you will tell your grandchildren. You won't regret the
experience.

your back window. That way you can take it off after the election and have it for a souvenir.
See you
on the Campaign Trail!

Setting The StageOur wet weather has brought a soft end to summer. It is only the middle of August and already school buses lumber
across bumpy roads. Fall catalogs clog my mailbox. Today, I moved the temperature control in my car from coldest to not so
cold. Fall is teasing me - I know - living in Oklahoma, ninety degree days never end in August. I am ready
for Autumn. Ready for the chill when I open the front door to retrieve my morning paper. Ready for the smell of my neighbor's
fireplace. And though I haven't been in school for twenty years, September is the month I still feel the tug to get back
to routine, to structure my day with projects, begin a new venture. Collectively we come back to work, ready to get
the job done after several months of lazy days, lazy dreams. Even though I didn't go on vacation this year, I contemplated
far-off adventures, trips around the world, pages of writing completed, my grand-daughter's wedding. Now,
as the world watches, we must get to the task of electing a President. This week the stage is being set in Denver and in Oklahoma.
We have a bonafide Obama organization ready to campaign in Oklahoma. With the announcement of Senator Obama's Vice President
expected this week and the beginning of the Democratic Convention next week, we are ready to take our Hope to the streets!

We Were WarnedWe were warned that the right -wing Republican machine would bring out the big guns and say everything under the sun to
discredit Barack Obama. We were told the authors of the Swift Boat campaign (who sunk Kerry in 2004 with lies about
his military career) would launch an all out attack and today they did just that. With the help of Mary Matalin, former
Bush Campaign manager and counselor to Dick Cheney, Jerome Corsi, was able to publish, yet again, another book of innuendo
and lies. No one wanted to read O.J.'s book, nor Timothy McVeigh's book. No one should waste the gas
to go to the book store, nor allow this man to profit from the character assassination of Barack Obama, his wife, his
family. It is morally, and ethically wrong. Each accusation, each lie, has been refuted time and again by source
after source. To read the truth, check out the links on my Resources page. We knew this was coming, so it isn't
much of a shock. After all, they lied about weapons of mass destruction.

Time is of the essence! We have 2 months to accomplish this goal of taking back our nation!
In the next two weeks we need to get prepared to hit the streets, the highways, the sidewalks, the dirt roads, the malls,
anywhere and everywhere we can take the message one-on-one to the voters of Oklahoma and all the states. As soon as the Senator
accepts the nomination, we need to be ready. I believe we will find the public more willing and eager to hear why we support
Barack Obama. Please volunteer!!! We Need You!!! This is your chance to participate in one of the most important
elections of the last 30 years, if not THE Most important election. So much is at stake. Don't be a person who thinks
that someone else will make the calls, someone else will put up signs, someone else will register voters. Be the Change
We ALL Want! To volunteer anywhere in the state, you can contact the Oklahoma City Campaign Headquarters at 405-602-2008.

From Down and Dirty to Fired Up!Last night, I had enough. I received one too many horrible emails about Obama. So, I decided to look for something to shoot
back across the Internet. It was late, I was tired, hot (it was 105 yesterday) and the emails had reached such a low
that I jumped down into the gutter and shot a few back. Not my proudest moment. The offending email was the age-old
whine of how sad it is that we don't have White Day and all its trimmings while those "others" have all the
advantages. BOO HOO. This kind of KKK propaganda is best kept under the white robe it came from. I can't stand the
malicious emails that get passed by mindless individuals who can''t recognize their own racist attitudes. Or maybe
they do, and they just aren't keeping it under wraps any longer. If that is the case, you can bet there is a line
drawn in the sand. I have no tolerance for bigotry, especially when it defiles my Christian beliefs. Rather than reading
the Sermon on the Mount, why don't we try living it? To be a Christian and to hate other people so much is as foreign
to me as a suicide bomber, and equally as dangerous. There is enough love for everyone. There is enough bread
for everyone. There is nothing to lose. We taught it to our children - we share, we are kind. And if you step on my toe, I
will ask you to stop. Or if, I am tired, or have had enough, I may step on your toe. Then feel very guilty and apologize. NEW PICTURES are posted on the pics page of the "We Are Stronger Together" Unity Rally in Oklahoma City
at Fairview Baptist Church. The Women For Obama organized the event perfectly. There were tents with tee shirts, face
painting for the kids, two beautiful Obama cakes, music, and great speakers. It was a wonderful kick-off for the count down
to election day. I ran into an old friend form high school. We talked for twenty minutes before it dawned on us who
the other was! Mary Mathews (she now goes by Chris) and I graduated in 1973 from Bishop McGuinness High School. Though we
didn't hang out with each other, our paths frequently crossed at political rallies and Eco-Action meetings. I hadn't
talked with her since high school. But, being birds of a feather - we both showed up to the Obama rally sporting straw hats
and Obama tees. It was a nice surprise! The sun is setting on my Oklahoma horizon. It is a beautiful orange-pink with
no striations in the cloudless sky. The temperature promises to top the one hundred mark all week. So, what
do you say, shall we all try to play nice?
