The major themes of my
book are greed, apathy and opportunity. Any situation, controlled by a few who combine these three, create an environment
that is bound to be chaotic, impersonal and near collapse. People exposed to this kind of environment often feel neglected,
hopeless, resigned to the status quo; a "nothing will ever change" mentality. Who am I to solve this ? Who am I
to speak up? What difference does it make, anyway.
Most people don't get involved unless they are impacted directly by a situation, myself included! Our current
state of economy, our standing on the world's stage, our actions abroad and here at home have begun to affect a large
number of regular folks who just want to get through the day with as little headache and conflict as possible. That
is hard to do when a gallon of gas costs more than a video rental! People take notice when the cost of a noon-time sandwich
is 5 bucks plus. Eyebrows raise and those who never commented on an act of Congress now wonder what the heck is going on.
Our land of the free has become unaffordable
for families, students, the elderly and a real struggle for those with good jobs. What can you do, right? What
can one person do?
You are staring
at the answer. You have a keyboard. You can email everyone from the presidential candidates, to your elected officials, your
local newspaper, presidents and CEOs of oil companies. Tell them, in no uncertain terms, what you think ought to happen.
Log on to your candidates website and get involved. Let's have and election where 100% of the voters VOTE!
We all have an opinion, it is time to voice it.
We are, after all, the proud owners of a constitution that allows us, no - requires us to to make our voices heard.
Just like George Bailey in "it's A Wonderful
Life" (the old black and white movie starring Jimmy Stewart) who found out how his single life impacted many, so
one small voice impacts many.
The
pen is mighty - The keyboard unconquerable - The Vote Transformative!
